This car is a one off commission for an American businesman and avid Ferrari collector Jim Glickenhaus. Jim is a friend of a close friend of mine.' This car has created an amazing buzz in the Ferrari community. The story goes something like this.... Jim contacted Pininfarina for a one-off special bodied Enzo. He found the last un-titled Enzo in California some time last year and had it shipped to Pininfarina and began the project without Ferrari's knowledge of the project. Jim is the lucky owner of an original 312 P4, and that was the inspiration for the design. Interesting part of the story is that when they informed Ferrari of this car's existance, Luca Di payed a visit to Pininfarina personally to inspect the work. When he left the meeting, the car was approved to have the Ferrari badges affixed and it's serial number will be included in the official Ferrari production lore. Consider this car to be similar to the custom Zagato bodied cars of the 50s and 60s. This is one of the first of many new commissions that Pininfarina, Zagato and Guigario appear to be accepting and soliciting. The wild card is if the car will get the seal of approval from Ferrari SPA to carry the prancing horse badge. IMHo, this car is stunning, and my friends who have seen it tell me that it is moving, and certainly Pininfarina's best work where Ferrari corporate was not meddleing in the design process.
