Film: ombord i Elan och Cortina plus jämförelse GTL :)

Jag snickrade ihop en liten film (57 minuter) med hjälp av material jag fick av Bosse Warmenius och kastade in lite jämförelse från GT Legends.

"Massive racing movie from Comet Racing Studios!

Comet Racing Studios are releasing this massive 57 minute movie featuring onboard video from a Lotus Cortina, a Lotus Elan as well as comparison onboard video from GT Legends game.

With film of racing drivers Bo Warmenius and Gunnar Turebrand in theirs Lotus Elan and Lotus Cortina racing at the season ending race at Dijon 2005 coupled with some racing from the GT Legends game, this is a great video weighing in at almost 58 minutes and just below 300 megs.

Format of the video is WMV to allow most people to watch it without the hazzle of installing extra codecs.

What you will see:

on this video you see when Bo Warmenius drives the Lotus Cortina (black gloves) and later he pits to give the car to the teams other driver Gunnar Turebrand (red gloves). Some comparison with a Cortina lap from GT Legends driven by John Sjöstrand is also included. There you can see how much easier it is to drive the car in the game compared to the real thing. The sim driver is faster despite not having to work as much with the wheel. The aim was not to set a perfect lap as it is possible to drive faster, but then it would have been difficult to make a comparison with the real car. All aids were off during the sim race lap.

The race with the Cortina is actually an hour and in this video only a few of the laps from the race are included.

About halfway into the video is a full race with Warmenius driving the Lotus Elan. Comparison laps with split-screen of the Elan is a future project. An amazing thing is how much he has to work with the wheel to keep the car going where he wants it to as he applies more power than the car appears to be able to handle. These little cars are amazing race cars despite being 40 years old!


What you will not see:

over-the-top crashes to rock music.
